Smart
Cards
A
smart card is a type of chip card or a plastic card embedded with a
computer chip that stores and transacts data between users. This
data is associated with either value or information or both and is
stored and processed within the card’s chip, either a memory or
microprocessor. The card data is transacted via a reader that is
part of a computing system.
Smart
card-enhanced systems are in use today throughout several key
applications, including healthcare, banking, entertainment,
telecommunication and transportation.
We
have range of EEPROM memory cards with rewritable memory. The cards
come in various sizes; 1K, 8K, 16K, 32K and 64K.
(EEPROM = Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only memory.)
Contactless Card
Contactless Card has a remote contactless electromagnetic interface.
To communicate with the data, it requires a contactless reader.
We
sell MIFARE Standard 1 K Card.(
MIFARE is a 13.56 MHz contactless technology that is described under
ISO 14443 Type A.)
Apart
from Contact and Contactless Cards, we also sell a smart card that
features a combination of both.
Hybrid
Card – is combination of contact and contactless. It requires
a contact and a Radio Frequency means to communicate. The card is
read either by inserting it into a contact reader or by waving it
through a radio frequency field (contactless reader).
Combi
Card – combines both the contact and contactless
communications abilities into a single semiconductor. It allows
EEPROM memory cells to be accesse from the both contact and
contactless elements.
